SENIOR DAY ON THE HILLTOP


The 2016 Red Devils baseball season is wrapped up for another year.  The last home game is always reserved to honor our senior ball players and their families. This year the baseball program added some wonderful touches to the ceremony.


The years fly by, the time is too short, our boys have become men and the field holds only memories.

These wonderful young men leave the Hilltop with great blessings in store for each of them.


Eli Hobbs is the son of Jay and Heather Hobbs. He has played Football, Baseball and Basketball for 6 years. He received All-County and All-Area 1st Team Honors for Football his junior and senior seasons, All-County Baseball his junior season and was selected to play in the East and West All Star Game his senior season. He received Basketball All-County Tournament Team his senior season. Eli is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Senior Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta and Spanish Club. He was voted as a Senior Class Favorite and Most Athletic by his senior class. He enjoys volunteering for various community and school activities and attends First Baptist Church of Athens. Eli will be attending Calhoun Community College this fall where he has received an Athletic Scholarship. His plans are to transfer to Mississippi State University to continue pursuing a degree in Environmental Agriculture and Agronomy.


Aron Moss is the son of Clifton and Pam Moss. He has played football for 3 years and baseball for 4 years. He is a member of FCA and is Elkmont’s representative on the First National Bank Advisory Board. He volunteers for many community activities including the Fiddlers Convention and tornado relief. He is a member of the Elkmont Church of Christ. Aron helps provide Sunday Church Service for residents of the Ardmore On-Main Rehab Nursing Home. He plans to attend Calhoun Community College and Athens State University.


Jordan Nelson is the son of Kim Robinson and Warren Nelson. Jordan has lettered in Football, Basketball, and Baseball since his freshman year. He received All-Area Honors for Football his senior season, All-Area, All-County, and All-County Tournament Honors for Basketball his senior season, All-County Honors for Baseball as a junior and was selected to the East and West All Star Game his junior and senior seasons. Jordan is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Senior Beta Club, Spanish Club, and Mu Alpha Theta. He was voted as a Senior Class Favorite and Best All Around by his senior class. Jordan is a member of Harvest Church of Christ. Jordan plans to attend Calhoun Community College this Fall to begin pursuing a degree in Engineering.


Travis Riggs is the son of Herbert and Dawne Riggs. Has played football, basketball, and baseball for four years at the Varsity Level. He received All-County in basketball his sophomore year, in football his junior and season seasons.  He was chosen for the ALL County Offensive 1st Team his senior year. Travis is a member of FCA, FFA, Spanish Club, Sr Beta, and MU Alpha Theta. He was selected as our school's Boys State Representative and was nominated for the Bryant-Jordan Scholarship Athlete Award for his outstanding academic and athletic achievements. Travis joined the 30+ Club this year for his score of 30 on the ACT Travis plans to attend the University of Alabama in the fall to major in Environmental Engineering.
