LADY DEVILS BEAT BROOKS

After several days at the beach and playing lots of softball in the Gulf Shores Classic, a fine-tuned Elkmont team blew past the Brooks Lady Lions, 12-2.
 
Bekah adds home run #6 to her season


The younger middle school Lady Devils started in where the older team left off.  Elkmont is on a red hot winning streak and collected another win by scorching Brooks, 16-4.

LADY DEVILS IN GULF SHORES



The Elkmont Lady Devils are spending spring break in Gulf Shores. 


In preliminary games, March 21, they lost to Tennessee based Friendship Christian, 6-2 and Huntsville High School, 8-5.  


More preliminary games are March 22 @ 9:30 am vs Sumiton Christian.  The second game of the day is 11 am vs Crestview, Florida.  They start play in the Gulf Coast Classic II Tournament March 23. Wish our ladies the best of luck during this tournament.  Hoping they bring back a shiny trophy as a souvenir.

ELKMONT SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER WITH CLEMENTS

In Game 1, the Red Devils claimed another win by breaking the Clements Colts, 9-1, in a fifth inning burst. Travis Riggs got the pitching win for Elkmont, holding Clements to five hits while striking out three. Hunter Pittman finished with two hits and two RBIs for Elkmont, while Jordan Nelson added three hits.

In Game 2, Elkmont raced out to a 7-6 lead in the third inning. Clements rallied back with five runs in the fourth inning to pull ahead for the win, 12-8.

RED DEVILS TAKE REGION SERIES FROM WILDCATS


The Elkmont Red Devils played West Limestone in the first game of the region matchup, March 15.  The boys in red lost the first game of series, 19-6. The Hilltop hosted the second and third game of the series, March 17.

Brady Garris went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs to lead the Red Devils in game 1. Jordan Nelson, Hunter Pitman and Aron Moss each had two hits. Taylor Thomas had two RBIs. Nelson, Pitman and Thomas each scored two runs. The winning pitcher Jackson Cook allowed three hits in five innings.

Jordan Nelson was the winning pitcher in Game 2. He also went 4-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored.

COACH'S THOUGHTS:
The atmosphere at the game was amazing last night.  Thank you to all our Elkmont fans for creating such an energetic and electric atmosphere for our players.


Down Home Portraits was on the hilltop yesterday.  There are 103 pictures of the Red Devils and the West Limestone Wildcats. Hillspirit wishes Robby had taken this up 10 years ago.
