MIDDLE SCHOOL RED DEVIL EXCITEMENT

HELICOPTER LANDS IN ELKMONT BASEBALL FIELD

PhotoThe Middle School
baseball team was
scheduled to go to
Athens Bible School
yesterday for a
double header.

Games were moved
to Elkmont at the last
minute because the ABS
field was too wet from
the inches of rain we
were blessed with on
Monday.

The Red Devils roared out the gate and  won
16 to 8 in the first game of the double header.

The second game was also l
ooking really good
for another win to be added to the middle school
record.  We were winning 10 to 3 in
the bottom of 4th when all the excitement happened.
An ump got hit by a foul ball. He started having
seizures and 911 was called and med flight landed
in center field.

(He chose go to hospital via ambulance though).
Needless to say game was called.

Elkmont will be traveling to Riverside for another
double header tomorrow, March 21.
Hopefully, no helicopters.

However, just heard @ 3:30 that it is really is at Elkmont @ 4 pm.  I have got to get a revised schedule.  If any of you hear of changes throughout the season, please send me a message.

RED DEVILS LOSE TO WESTMINSTER IN REGIONAL PLAY

The Red Devils traveled to Westminster, March 19 for an area match-up.  The previous day's game (regional play is a best 2 out 3 series) was a rainout at Elkmont.  Westminster took both games (6-4) and (6-5) so Elkmont drops down into the bottom of the Area 15 ranking.  They are in a tough area this year with Madison Academy, West Morgan, and Westminister Christian.  No word yet if the games (Varsity/JV) rained out on Monday will be rescheduled.  With the forecasted wet spring and the short baseball season, it is doubtful.
