THIS WEEK IN ELKMONT SOFTBALL - MARCH 13-17


Our ladies are coming bouncing off their championship run in the Calhoun Softball Tourney; what are they doing next? They were nominated for the top 10 teams in Alabama 3A this week.

CLASS 3A

Elkmont 15, West Morgan 3:
Elkmont pounded out 21 hits and the Red Devils scored 11 runs in the final two innings to race to a 15-3 win over West Morgan Tuesday afternoon. Elkmont led 4-1 through five innings, but scored six runs in the sixth and five more in the seventh to turn the game into a blowout.
Abby Gooch and Haven Kirby both pounded out four hits, with Gooch also driving in three runs. Brilee Miller and Alli Griffis both had three hits and two RBIs, while Autumn Davis and Kaylee Smith both had two hits and Hannah Usery had two RBIs. Kirby and Miller also hit home runs for the Red Devils.

On the defensive side, Autumn Davis pitched a complete game with 7 strikeouts and 17 first pitch strikes.

Middle School
Our younger team won 7-4 over the Lady Rebels. 
Typanga Suggs had 2 hits and 3 RBIs
Paige Robinson had 1 hit
Tylee Thomas had 1 hit
Ella Beddingfield had 1 walk and 2 RBIs
Alysaa Harwell had 1 RBI

Defense:
Alysaa Harwell pitched a complete game with 7 first pitch strikes and 5 strikeouts.

MARCH 15 @ East Lawrence

Elkmont 4, East Lawrence 2: 
Haven Kirby hit a home run for Elkmont her first time at bat and scored twice in the game. Malena Butler was the winning pitcher pitching 7 complete innings  with 16 first pitch strikes in the Class 3A, Area 15 game.

Autumn Davis drove in a pair of runs for Elkmont.
Haven Kirby and Shelby Norman each led Elkmont with a hit and two RBIs.
Davis got the pitching win. She struck out seven.
