RED DEVILS SPLITS HOMESTAND WITH GILES COUNTY

Game 2:
The Elkmont Red Devils jumped out to an early lead on Giles County and captured an 11-4 victory on Friday.  Six runs in the first three innings allowed Elkmont to put the game away early.  A groundout by Jared Bailey, an error, and an RBI single by Aron Moss in the first inning and a walk by Moss during the second inning helped Elkmont put some runs on the board early.  Bailey racked up five RBIs on three hits for Elkmont.

Eli Hobbs was in control on the mound. Hobbs gave up just three hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out four during his 5 1/3 innings of work.  Trey Garrett was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.

After a quick strike from Giles County, Elkmont responded with one run in the second.  After posting two runs in the third, Elkmont again scored two in the sixth. In the third, Elkmont scored on an RBI double by Bailey, bringing home Jackson Cook.  The Red Devils answered Giles County's top inning with three runs of its own in the fifth. Elkmont scored on a fielder's choice, an error, and an RBI single by Hunter Pitman.


Game 1: 

Hunter Pitman's big day not enough, as Elkmont loses 13-3 to Giles County.  The Red Devils scattered seven hits on Friday, but weren't able to push enough runs across, and lost 13-3 to Giles County.  The lead stayed with Giles County after the third, when it scored six runs on two errors.  One Elkmont run crossed the plate in the bottom half of the fourth, making the score 8-3. A fielder's choice sparked Elkmont's rally. Finally, Sam got Jared Bailey to fly out to end the threat.

Sam got the win for Giles County. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered seven hits.Josh Rogers, Clayton Mcalister and Trey Garrett helped lead Giles County. They combined for three hits and four RBIs.

Taylor Thomas took the loss for Elkmont. He lasted just two innings, walked four, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
