MIDDLE DEVILS END SEASON WITH WIN - BASEBALL TAZ
Well, the Elkmont Middle Devils ended their season on a high note with a win over Westminster Christian Academy. The defense played its best game of the season and Eli Hobbs pitched 7 strong innings while picking up 4 Ks to bring home the 8-0 win.
The Devil offense got going in the top of the 1st with Hobbs getting a
Triple, while Jordan Nelson made it on base by being hit by a pitch and both
Hobbs and Nelson were driven home by Ethan Wilson to put us up 2-0. Hobbs scored again in the 2nd on a hit by Nelson and we were up 3-0.
In the 3rd, Bryce Tyler scored on a walk by Connor Norman, Travis Riggs scored as Hobbs was hit by a pitch and Josh Johnson scored on a passed ball while courtesy running for Brady Garris. Norman and Hobbs were driven in by Wilson to make it 8 - 0 at the end of the inning.
The defense played solid the entire game today and came up with the needed outs most of the time. The catcher, Garris made a couple of fine plays behind the plate in this seven inning game. I think that makes the Devils' season record 15 - 9 for a very decent middle school season. Big thanks to Coach Garth Garris for all his effort and time with our boys. Look forward to watching the guys again next year!!!!!!
