The most enjoyable age to watch is the little players.  We hear so much about the older kids but rarely about the youngest.  There are several young Elkmont teams who are playing.  If you are a fan of one of these teams, please share how they are doing.  All the Hill Spirit needs is a score, which teams are playing and a picture to make a great post.

DIAMOND DEVILS BURING THROUGH SEASON

The 10U Diamond Devils softball team is continuing their winning streak!! The Devils went to West Limestone on Thursday, April 18.  This is the first time this season the Devils played a 5 inning game, others have been called in the 3rd because of having such huge lead.  The West #2 put up a good fight, but the Diamond Devils still came out on top with a 5-1 score.

Saturday, April 20, The Diamond Devils hosted the game against Ardmore #3.  The girls came to play ball, with another win, the score was 11-2.

Sunday, April 21, The Diamond Devils headed to Tuscaloosa to watch the Alabama #5 ranked softball team.  The entire Devils team, friends, and family was fortunate enough to go together on a charter bus.  It was a great day for softball!!! The Alabama Crimson Tide Softball Team defeated Mississippi state with a 9-8 score.  The Diamond Devils were excited to meet all the UA softball players and get autographs. 

On Tuesday, April 23, The Diamond Devils traveled to Johnson to play a makeup game.  Another great night of softball.  The Devils won against Johnson #2 in a 3 inning game with a score of 21-0.  

After a Pre-Season Champion Ship and six season games the 10U Diamond Devils Softball Team remains UNDEFEATED!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

STILL UNDEFEATED

Proud of Elkmont #1 12U softball team.  These ladies are undefeated and have a record of  7-0 for the season so far!  They played the Ardmore Venom yesterday and today.  

Monday's game:  Elkmont won 13 - 7.
Tuesday's game:  Elkmont beat the Venom 11 - 1 in three innings.   

Great job tonight and a great home run hit by Alyssa R.! They all played well tonight! :)

ELKMONT LUNACHIX WINS

One of our Elkmont 12U girls teams, the Elkmont Lunachix hosted Ardmore on Saturday. They came to win, every girl on the team hit the ball except for one and she actually walked and scored both at bats. We had good pitching, great base-running, few errors and a solid outfield catching balls for outs.   The Lunachix were down at the bottom of the last inning, 12 - 10.  The Elkmont bats were able to score 3 runs to put the girls ahead for the win, 13 - 12.  So proud of those girls.

ELKMONT 1 WINS

MIDDLE SCHOOL SOFTBALL TAKES COUNTY TOURNAMENT

The Elkmont Lady Red Devils took first place this weekend, bringing home the gold.  The Limestone County Middle School Tournament was hosted by Ardmore High School this year.  Elkmont played the West Limestone Lady Wildcats in the  finals, beating them by four runs (5 - 1).  Congrads to our middle school softball players and their coaches.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TAKES SECOND

 

The Elkmont Middle School Devils ended their season with the runner up trophy in 2013 Limestone County Middle School Baseball Tournament.   They played Ardmore in the finals in a hard fought game but weren't able to pull the upset off, taking the loss 5 - 4.  

 

The Devils and Coach Garris put together an impressive 20 - 6 season record.  Looking forward to seeing this group of athletes continue to improve  and play high school varsity ball.  The members of this year's team are:

RED DEVILS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Red Devils beat ABS 8-3 last night. Ekmont will be playing in the finals but will have to beat Ardmore twice since the Tigers are undefeated in tournament play.  This will test the young Devils' pitching depth.  The other eight players on the field are going to need to put together a solid defense to beat Ardmore.  The games will start at 4:30 pm.

If you want to come and cheer on the Red Devils, the tournament is being played in Ardmore. They will play Ardmore at 4:30 today for championship.

DIAMOND DEVILS WIN AGAIN

The 10U softball team, Diamond Devils, won their third season game against Ardmore #2 on Saturday, April 13 with a score of 10-0.  The Devils have been on fire this season!! 

DIAMOND DEVILS UNDEFEATED IN EARLY SEASON PLAY

March 30th, the Diamond Devils entered the Pre-Season 10U Softball Tournament hosted by Creekside.  They swooped through the tournament without a loss, bringing home the Championship Trophy!!!!


The Diamond Devils 10U softball team is off to a strong start.  Monday, April 8, Diamond Devils faced Creekside#1 at home. At the end of the first Inning the Devils was winning 6-0. At the end of the second 8-0, and then winning the game with a 13-0 score in 3 innings. Way to Go Diamond Devils!!!

The Diamond Devils 10U softball played their second game of the season on April 12 against Owens. They had an 8:30 scheduled game that didn't get started til 9:15. The Devils came out ready to play ball!!!! They won the game in 3 innings with a score of 14-1. Way to Go!!!

MIDDLE SCHOOL LIMESTONE COUNTY BASEBALL TOURNAMENT

The Red Devils won against Athens Bible School Saturday in the opening round of the tourney and then lost to Ardmore.   Elkmont dropped into the loser's bracket and will play the winner of ABS and Riverside Christian (4:30) tonight at 6:30 pm.  

The winner will go to the championship round but will have to beat Ardmore  twice tomorrow since the Tigers are undefeated in tournament play.  Those games will start at 4:30 pm tomorrow.

ELKMONT VS CLEMENTS MIDDLE SCHOOL - APRIL 10

ELKMONT LUNACHIX VISITS TUSCALOOSA

Elkmont Lunachix, one of Elkmont's 12u Youth League softball teams recently went to watch the University of Alabama softball team play. It was a great experience for the Lunachix players to see a college team play and get some pointers. Many of these young ladies will be moving on to play school ball next year.
