MIDDLE SCHOOL SPLITS WITH EAST

The Elkmont middle school Red Devils hosted the East Limestone Indians in a double header Tuesday.  Each team were able to add a game to the win column.

The Red Devils lost the first game,18-2, to East at Elkmont on Tuesday as Sawyer Stevens allowed two hits over four innings.

Elkmont's Phillip Norman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed 12 runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out three.

Elkmont rallied back to take the win in second game of the double header. Hunter Pitman went 2-3 as Elkmont Middle School took home a 10-5 victory over East in five innings at Elkmont on Tuesday.He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third inning.
 

Login Griffin recorded the win for Elkmont Middle School. He allowed four runs over three innings. Login struck out seven, walked one and gave up three hits.  Braden Miller got the save, pitching 2 innings with 3 strikeouts.

The lead stayed with Elkmont Middle School after the second, when it scored four runs on an RBI double by Hunter and a two-run single by Phillip Norman.

Three runs in the top of the third helped East close its deficit to 5-4.  The East threat came to an end when Login shut the door on Andrew Parris with a strike out. After the quick strike in the top of the inning from East, the Red Devils responded with five runs in the third. Elkmont scored on a fielder's choice, a two-run error, and a Pitman RBI single topped off with his steal of home.


The Red Devils will be at West Limestone, March 10, in a double header.  First pitch is at 4:30 pm.
