MIDDLE SCHOOL SPLITS WITH TANNER

Elkmont Middle School Red Devils played at Tanner, March 18.  They dropped the first game to Tanner, 6-3, despite the efforts of Phillip Norman,  in five innings.

The game was never in doubt after the second  inning, as Tanner scored three runs on two singles. Three runs in the top of the fifth helped Elkmont Middle School close its deficit to 5-3. A wild pitch, an RBI double by Phillip, and another wild pitch gave the Devils life. But, Z Shoulders got Matt Sims to strike out to end the game.  

J Revaz recorded the win for Tanner. He tossed three innings of shutout ball. J Revaz struck out four, walked one and gave up one hit.It was a good day at the plate for Elkmont's Phillip. Phillip went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.
Phillip was charged with the loss. He lasted just two innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed three runs.


Elkmont Middle School tops Tanner in back-and-forth affair, 12-7

Elkmont and Tanner passed the lead back and forth five times on Tuesday but in the end Elkmont Middle School pulled out a 12-7 win in five innings over Tanner.

In the top of the first, The Red Devils grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Phillip Norman kicked things off for Elkmont Middle School with a single. A stolen base then moved Phillip from first to second. Phillip then stole home. Tanner scored three runs of its own in the first. Tanner scored on a walk by G Mann, a bases loaded walk by B Rios, and a walk by B Jones.

It didn't take long for Tanner to answer as it scored three runs of its own in the fourth. Tanner scored on an RBI single by J Revaz and a two-run single by N Kuntz.

The Red Devils pulled out the win thanks to a strong fifth inning. A wild pitch scored Clay Johnson to give Elkmont the lead for good.

Braden Miller got the win for the our middle school team. He allowed four runs over three innings. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered three hits.

C Looney ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out four.

Logan Griffin got on base three times in the game for Elkmont.
