MIDDLE SCHOOL SPLITS AT HOME WITH WEST LIMESTONE

ELKMONT MIDDLE SCHOOL MUSTERS 4 HITS, DROPS 14-5 CONTEST TO WEST 

The West Limestone Wildcats went up for good in the first inning, scoring four runs on two doubles.  West built upon its lead with four runs in the second. Jesse Rose kicked things off with a triple, plating Simmons, Alex Casteel and Drew.

Five runs in the bottom of the fourth helped Elkmont Middle School close its deficit to 12-5. The Red Devils made a run in the fourth inning on a wild pitch, a three-run triple by Jim Dawson, and a ground out by Logan Griffin.  Finally, West relief pitcher, Alex Baugher got Hunter Pitman to ground out to end the Elkmont rally.

Game Stats:
West Limestone:
Drew Beddingfield, credited with the win, got it done on the mound on the way to a Wildcat win. He tossed three innings of shutout ball. Drew struck out eight, walked two and gave up no hits.

Elkmont:

Hunter Pitman took the loss for Elkmont Middle School. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
 

Elkmont Middle School makes the most of 4 hits in 6-4 victory over West

Elkmont Middle School and West both threatened with rallies, but it was the Red Devils that eventually took the advantage in a 6-4 win.
Elkmont took the lead in the first inning, thanks to a first inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on.They tacked on another five runs in the second. Hunter kicked things off with a double, plating Jim Dawson and Clay Johnson. That was followed up by Phillip's single, scoring Logan Griffin and Hunter.

The Red Devils would not relinquish the lead as Wildcats were unable to weather the six-run second inning deficit.

West scored on a ground out by Simmons and a two-run double by Drew Beddingfield in the third inning and an RBI double by Drew in the fifth inning. Still, the Wildcats couldn't catch Elkmont and dropped the last game of the night.

Game Stats:
West had six hits compared with Elkmont Middle School's four, but West stranded five runners on base.

Elkmont:
Hunter Pitman racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Red Devils. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the second inning.

Phillip Norman got the win for Elkmont. He allowed four runs over five innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered six hits.


West Limestone:

D Baugher was charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked four and struck out one.
