MIDDLE SCHOOL OFF TO GREAT START

The Elkmont Middle Devils traveled back to New Hope on Saturday for two more games and came away with a win and a loss. Their record is now 3 - 1.
We started the day off nicely with a win against the young men from DAR by a
13 to 2 margin after 5 innings. The bats seemed to be a little hotter during this game and our runners also seemed more focused as I don't remember a
single error running the bases. The pitching was handled by two lefties with Aron Moss going the first two innings giving up two runs with two Ks (strike outs) and Ethan Wilson going the final three innings while giving up no runs with 8 Ks. Bryce Tyler and Brady Garris again did a fine job behind the plate.

After a couple hours wait, we faced the guys from the home team, New Hope, and suffered our first setback of the season. We never seemed to figure out the
New Hope pitching and the scoreboard reflected that with only one run in the nightcap which Elkmont lost 5 to 1 after 5 innings. Taylor Thomas went 2/3rds before being relieved by Eli Hobbs who went 2 and 1/3rds before giving way to Jordan Nelson who went the final inning and struck out a batter (K).

Season looks bright for our young Devils and hope to see them back in action
next week. ...Taz out!
