ARDMORE TIGERS RIP RED DEVILS

The Varsity Red Devils traveled to Ardmore to play the Ardmore Tigers.  The Red Devils scored one run in the first inning and added two more in the 5th inning.  However, the Tigers put together three runs in the third, 2 runs in the fourth and topped off the score with another three runs in the sixth to claim a win, 8 - 3.    The Red Devils took a step back from the error free baseball on Tuesday with 5 errors and 18 strikeouts out of 30 at bats against Ardmore.  Elkmont walked 3 times and had 5 hits for the night.  Bryant Wales pitched a complete game and is tagged with the loss.  He walked 3 batters, hit one and gave up 4 hits.

Monday starts the real season for the Varsity Red Devils.  All the games played before mean nothing except a time to prepare for what is to come.  Area play which determines Elkmont's playoff hopes for 2012 begins with Clements, March 19 and 20.  The Devils have a good chance to do very well in Area 15 play if they are able to bring their "A" game.  They must keep errors down and batters must put  balls in play rather than striking out.
